To introduce unit with examples. Kick off unit with excitement.
Begin with movie clips of mythical creatures along with power point intro on mythology and fantasy.
TSW partake in read aloud. Discussion and Q&A.

Start with student lead discussion with continuation of mythology topic.
Powerpoint on four areas of study. (North America, South America, Asia, and Europe)
TSW assemble in discussion in organizing research and thoughts on paper. Go over homework from day one.
Ask students 1 question from today’s material and have them write it on a post it note and leave on desk.

Introduce students to morals or purpose of mythology. Connect cultural aspects of 4 regions.
TSW continue discussion of culture. Break into small groups and relate the activity to culture. Spend 5 min on discussion.

Introduce religion and the role it takes.
Show powerpoint of religions in our 4 areas of concentrations
TSW analyze the major role of religion on different levels. Go over check list with students for projects and Q&A
Have student write 3 things down on what they learned today. (Exit card.)

TSW hypothesize in a group activity. Half of the groups will outline how a business would work in a communist society. Other half will outline a capitalist society.
Have student write on post it note something they would like to know more of and something they didn’t know before class.

Groups continue projects.
Walk around room to monitor groups and keep them on track. First part is due - rough draft.
Have students write something new they have learned in their research so far. Write on exit card.

TSW break back into groups and work on project.

TSW meet at the computer lab for video and audio work on projects. Along with my help if needed to piece together material.

Round table or townhall meeting style.



Taking a break on projects.
TSW hold a town-hall meeting on examining likes and dislikes so far.
TSW critique some of their evaluation standards for their projects. As well as ranking ideas for rewards for the extra badges.
Class needs to come up with 3 parts of their project that need they should be graded on to earn their points. They will write them on the board before they leave.
